Discovered: Yet another YouTuber I have never heard of until today and she's got over 5 million subscribers: Jonna Jinton

It struck me this morning just how many riches we have in the software world. There are applications to do just about anything. I’ve been spending more time playing with the notes app Craft and their new version is going to be adding so many cool things, the best of which are an MCP server for AI access as well as a new API. They tried the extension thing before with Craft X which kinda died on the vine during the beta period. I hope this new API is as useful as Craft X was promising to be.

On the note of riches in the software world…sampled piano libraries. Who would have thought that regular people would have access to the best pianos in the world at the click of a button? Of course it’s not the real pianos, it’s just fancy recordings (or in some cases realtime computer models), but for most people that is enough. Who has room for multiple grand pianos in their homes? 😂

Via WikiArt and Dave Winer’s “Great Art” feed I discovered the artist Édouard Leon Cortès, a French Post-Impressionist painter. Absolutely love his work and I’ll be using it for the header image for these posts.

Went with the kids today down to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Chicago. It’s now the only place to get the Christmas Reserve coffee beans which I get every year because they are so damned good.

Hey hey here we are in a new year! Welcome 2026! I rang in the New Year doing two things, one of which I normally loathe if I’m even awake when the clock strikes midnight: watching “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”. Why this year? Because it’
