Wow. What a day it was in politics yesterday. Between the Mamdani/Trump meeting at the White House where you’d swear Trump would have adopted Mamdani after their meeting to the announcement by Marjorie Taylor Greene that she was resigning as of 1/5. Crazy stuff.

It also struck me how big the last month/month-and-a-half have been in the audio tech space. So many new products and software update releases.

It’s astounding how many people just believe stuff they read on the Internet without being wiling to actually do some research to see if what they’re believing and reposting is even true. Malwarebytes posts trash like this and because it’s about Google people just believe it. It’s pure nonsense and the person writing the Malwarebytes article clearly didn’t do any research - they just relied on some random post on X.

Google specifically says they do not train Gemini with Gmail data in their terms of service documentation. “Smart features” have existed for at least a decade - long before Gemini existed. They’re machine learning-based tools, not LLM-based.

This stuff is exhausting and just non-stop.

Hey hey here we are in a new year! Welcome 2026! I rang in the New Year doing two things, one of which I normally loathe if I’m even awake when the clock strikes midnight: watching “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”. Why this year? Because it’
